I contributed to a section on "Disruptors in the Superyacht Industry" for the inaugural annual "Futureyachts" publication for BOAT International, with senior editor, Marilyn Mower. Here is a JPG shot of what I had to say, and one of my favorite excerpts: "
“A combination of factors are coming together to help open that door to the future of superyachting – but I still don’t believe this future will be met with a warm welcome. It will require a strong voice demanding to be heard,” he says. Weiss notes disruption is more apparent outside our industry than inside of it. “There is an evolution underway in how we live and what we seek - we now live in a globally linked economy and an increasingly global culture. This tectonic shift has begun to shake apart many of the silos that have kept industries insular and myopic for decades. It is so refreshing now to see automotive, film, entertainment, fashion, and other industries wake up, rub their collective eyes under this new sun, and stumble over to shake hands and compare notes with each other for the first time."
